FITNESS & EXERCISE SAFETY GUIDELINES
Move Well. Stay Safe. Enjoy Your Stay.
At River Rock Villa, we want you to feel comfortable using our fitness area and make the most of your time here. Exercise can be a wonderful way to stay active during your stay, and we invite you to use the space at your own pace.
As with any physical activity, there are inherent risks. Please use the equipment responsibly, listen to your body, and follow these guidelines for a safe experience.
1. Know Your Limits
Exercise at a level appropriate for your age, fitness level, and experience. Do not attempt exercises or weights beyond what you can safely control.
2. Warm Up First
Take a few minutes to warm up before beginning your workout. Gentle movement and light exercise can help prepare your muscles and joints for activity.
3. Use Proper Form
Maintain controlled movements and proper body position. If an exercise causes pain, unusual strain, dizziness, or discomfort, stop immediately.
4. Breathe Naturally
Remember to breathe throughout your workout. Avoid holding your breath, particularly while lifting or exerting yourself.
5. Wear Appropriate Clothing & Footwear
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive, closed-toe athletic shoes when using exercise equipment.
Bare feet, sandals, and wet footwear should not be used on exercise equipment.
6. Use Equipment Carefully
Before using any machine or piece of equipment, make sure you understand how it operates. Adjust seats, weights, and settings appropriately before beginning.
Use equipment only for its intended purpose, and return weights and accessories to their proper places when finished.
7. Keep Hands, Hair & Clothing Clear
Keep hands, fingers, loose clothing, jewelry, and long hair away from moving parts.
8. Inspect Before Use
Take a moment to look over the equipment before using it. If you notice anything loose, damaged, unstable, or not functioning properly, do not use it.
Please notify your hosts so we can address it promptly.
9. Guests Must Be 18+
Guests must be 18 years or older to use the fitness equipment.
10. Exercise Responsibly
If you have a medical condition, injury, or concern about your ability to safely exercise, consult your physician before beginning a workout.
Stop exercising immediately if you experience chest pain, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, or other concerning symptoms.
You know your body best. When in doubt, stop and rest.

Explore the equipment at your own pace, choosing movements appropriate for your experience and fitness level.
Please use all equipment as intended and follow the safety guidelines above.
STRENGTH & FREE WEIGHTS
Free weights are available for guests who enjoy strength training or want to add a few simple exercises to their stay.
Start with a weight that allows you to move comfortably and with control. Avoid swinging, jerking, or using momentum to complete a movement.
Return weights carefully when finished and keep the workout area clear.
A good rule: control the movement, protect your space, and don't lift beyond your experience.
BARRE & LOW-IMPACT MOVEMENT
Looking for Something Different?
Barre combines ballet-inspired movements with elements of strength, balance, and flexibility. It can be a good option for guests who prefer smaller, controlled movements and a lower-impact workout.
